The history of the ITMS group of companies is closely linked to the legacy of three iconic Russian tobacco manufacturers: Saratov Tobacco Factory, Yava Factory and St. Petersburg's Rotmans-Neva Factory. Their traditions and the employees’ expertise formed the foundation for our modern and innovative production.

Saratov Tobacco Factory
Opened by two brothers – Kondratiy and Michael Shtaf.
Yava factory
Merchants Avraham Zurna and Samuel Gabai started a tobacco company in Moscow, which later became Java factory.

1876 year
The origins of "Nebo-Tobacco"
The business of the merchant Shaposhnikov was founded in St. Petersburg.
After more than a hundred years, it turned into the Nebo-Tabak factory, which subsequently launched a joint production with Rotmansinternational.
British American Tobacco
British American Tobacco entered the Russian market, with four divisions opening representative offices and later merging to form British American Tobacco Russia.

Purchase of factories
British American Tobacco acquired a controlling stake in Java factory and Saratov Tobacco Factory.
BAT-SPB
Rotmans-Nevo factory, owned by Rotmans International, started operating in St. Petersburg. After the merger of Rothmans International and British American Tobacco, the factory became the property of British American Tobacco and then received the name BAT-SPb.

glo™ and neo™ launch
St. Petersburg factory launched the production of neo™ sticks for glo™ heating systems for the first time in the world.
ITMS group of companies
After the transfer of business to local investors the new structure was named ITMS group of companies.
